Community involvement is imperative to me. As a member of the Florida Bar, I am not only a member, but I am actively involved in several committees. I have been a member and assistant to the chair on the Judicial Evaluation committee. I am currently a member of the Law Related Education Committee and assistant to the Chair. The purpose of the Law Related Education Committee is to educate the citizens, adults as well as children, of the State of Florida on civic issues. We help to create the Mock Trial and Moot Court problem for the Annual State High School Competition. The winning team represents the State of Florida in the National Competition. I have had the opportunity to judge this completion and found it to be a humbling experience.
Participation in Law Related Education Committee is only one of the many community activities that I have been involved in. Even before my legal career, I have been involved and given back to my community by giving of myself. I have worked in my home church with the childrenís department and the youth group, became a Girl Scoutís leader, and I joined the Justice Teaching program, which required me to visit schools and instruct on the legal system. As a volunteer in the community, I am a Sunday School teacher at my church, on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scout of Gateway Council, and PTSA president for First Coast High School.
